Food Services

The Child Nutrition Program provides one-fourth (for breakfast) and one-third (for lunch) of the daily nutritional requirements for school children. The PCSD 25 Food Services Program operates as a nonprofit, self-supporting service. The program is funded from the sale of all meals, á la carte items, and catering. The United States Department of Agriculture provides reimbursements for some costs for student’s school meals, meals served to children through the Summer Food Program, and the After-Schools Snack Program. Secondary schools have kitchens on location. Elementary schools and the Lincoln Early Childhood Center receive daily deliveries from the district's Central Kitchen, but prepare all meals on site.

Will meals be provided free of charge to all learners during the 2023-2024 school year?
No. The USDA has suspended the waiver that allowed PCSD 25 to provide free meals to all learners during the pandemic. That's why it's vital for parents/guardians to fill out a free and reduced meal application as soon as possible.

Completing the Online Free & Reduced Meals Application helps in many areas beyond offering free or reduced meals. Just one form per household ensures continued funding to support all PCSD 25 learners.
