About Syringa Elementary
Message From Our Principal
Welcome to Syringa Elementary, a school wide Title I school! My name is Cynthia Lund, and I joined the Syringa family in 2024. I am so proud to carry on the Syringa Viking tradition of excellence in education. Before my time at Syringa, I was a classroom teacher at Chubbuck Elementary for 10 years in the 4th grade, and I spent one year as the Interventionist. I am so proud to be in a building where my grandmother taught for 38 years! It feels like coming home.
Syringa Elementary opened its doors in the fall of 1962; and the learning has never stopped! Here at Syringa we serve over 300 students, ranging from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Every classroom has a highly qualified teacher demonstrating the most up to date educational strategies through research based curriculum. At Syringa, we are a community of educators, families and patrons working together towards a common purpose: to empower learners. We want learners to develop self-confidence and a growth mindset through active engagement in the learning process. Our focus is LEARNING. Each day, your child should be able to answer the following questions:
- What am I learning...?
- Why am I learning this?
- How will I know when I've learned it?
It is my ultimate goal to provide learners, their families and the community with a positive learning experience in a caring and rigorous learning environment. I strive each day for school to be a place where learners can meet their maximum potential. I also strive for all learners to know that Syringa is a place where all of the teachers and staff are here to support, and care for them.
